For lunch on the go, we are a short walk from scrumptious food at independent cafe, Deli Central, on Forth Street (try their daily specials or “the best breakfast wrap in the world” according to one Trip Advisor reviewer). Or if you prefer the familiar menu choices at the trusty national food chains, we have M&S Food, Sainsbury’s and Greggs on our doorstep, at Newcastle Central Station.

For client dining, after work drinks, or dinner with your colleagues – you are spoilt for choice for great bars and restaurants within a short walk of St James Gate. 

Grab a curry at renowned Indian and Punjabi restaurant, Sachins, on Forth Banks. For authentic South East Asian dishes, cooked by Thai chefs, head towards the Quayside, to Mantra Thai. If it’s a cosy, Parisian style cafe bar you’re looking for – enjoy traditional French cuisine, wines and craft ales at The French Quarter.

Looking to really impress your guests? Head-up St James Boulevard to 3SIXTY Champagne Lounge on the top floor of Newcastle’s highest building, to take in the views.

For a good-old pint and a warm, relaxed welcome and atmosphere – The Blonde Barrel, The Telegraph pub and The Townwall are our recommendations.

Leisure activities nearby

The businesses and organisations based at St James Gate love being on the doorstep of a varied range of leisure destinations.

If you want an office with near-by amenities that give your team a chance to relax before and after work and enjoy quality time with their colleagues, you’re looking in the right place.

We are just a stone’s throw from one of Europe’s best waterfronts – Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside. Take a stroll by the River Tyne, any time. Unwind.

How about a swim or gym session before and after work? The Mineral House spa at the 4-star Crowne Plaza hotel is just across the road. The hotel also has a fantastic, relaxing Gin Bar for social gatherings.

Perhaps your team may like to bond over some ten-pin bowling, American pool, ping pong, fast-food, or karaoke at the popular boutique leisure destination, Lane 7 ? This brilliant venue is just a couple of minutes’ walk from our offices.

Our offices are also a short walk to the unique, independent entertainments venue of great character and rugged charm – the Boiler Shop. It hosts some of the city’s most exciting gatherings, from live performances, club nights and exhibitions, to food and drink festivals. The Boiler Shop is perfect for memorable events and has a broad spectrum of cultural uses. 

If shopping is your thing, you are spoilt for choice in Newcastle’s city centre and at Eldon Square shopping centre.
